China Aviation Pavilion

194 X 130 cm     ac     2010/7/27

Covered in a white membrane, the China Aviation Pavilion is built like a cloud, representing the dream of mankind to fly in the sky. It also looks like the mathematic symbol of infinity “∞”, indicating the infinite universe, vast and mysterious as well as the infinite possibilities and developments that flying can bring to cities. One hundred years ago, both the invention and manufacture of aircrafts and the creation of the World Expo came about around roughly the same time.

This work features the China Aviation Pavilion with a dreamy fresco of flying figures from “the Legend of the Moon” above it. Below, we see aircrafts from China Far Eastern Air, and CNAC. The flying ceremony upon Tiananmen for the celebration of national day complete the picture.
