Matisse Joins the “Van Gogh Art Furniture Club” (III) By invitation, Matisse joined the club for the third time, producing a canvas the same size as the second, forming one of the three large paintings vertically.

In this third painting, we see Matisse’s original painting, *Interior of the Black Fern* (1948), appearing alongside the bed and window of Van Gogh’s studio bedroom, but the seated girl is replaced by Van Gogh’s *Adeline Ravoux* (1890), a girl from Auvers. This synthetic combination of elements deconstructing and reconstructing from Dr. Chen’s masterpieces is part of Dr. Chen’s “Neo-Pictographical” process, which began in 1969.

According to Matisse’s vision, these three paintings must be unified to reveal the full power and meaning of his art.
