Pablo Picasso (1881-1973)

Like Matisse, Picasso was invited to the club three times due to his creative and prolific period in Paris.

During his first visit, he appeared in his “Self-Portrait with Palette” (1906), a young and energetic figure seemingly poised to pose with the couple in his “Frugal Dining” (1904). He hung early paintings on his walls: “Young Girl with a Basket of Flowers” (1905), “Woman with a Jewel Necklace” (1901), and the Spanish painting “La Corrida Bacedona” (1901). In 1907, he began using a new artistic expression, Cubism, with his revolutionary “Les Demoiselles d’Avignon,” later joined by Braque, Juan Gris, and Fernand Legg, among others.
