In this painting, Dr. Chen pays homage to the American Pavilion and the country that welcomed him more than 30 years ago. He includes icons that symbolize the American spirit of freedom and democracy, such as Mount Rushmore, the Statue of Liberty, the current President and Secretary of State, the US Sponsor Team, Jimmy Carter and Deng XiaoPing signing the Sino- US student exchange program, etc. Above this inspiring collage, he paints a rainbow, checkered with the names and logos of prominent American corporations, as they have prospered both the American and global economies.
