Olympics in Chinese Characters In this painting, we find the calligraphic manifestation of the “Zhuan” characters mingling with some simplified and suggestive sport designs. If you look closely, the Chinese characters also reveal plenty of human forms hiding within them as basic structures, only in beautified simplicity. These various structures and combinations of lines and dots are black and white in this painting, while the colored parts relate directly to the Olympics, as the Tian’anmen Gate and the Temple of Heaven remind us of the upcoming Beijing Olympic Games.
