The Taiwan Pavilion showcases the beautiful island’s scenery, traditions and culture with the theme “Mountain, Water, Heart and Lantern.” The design is a transparent cube housing a giant ball in its center, which showcases beautiful LED images of festive folk lanterns, calligraphy, aboriginal song and dance, landscape, and other images of the island’s culture. This visual feast flashed across the dome day and night, entertaining all passerbys. The main part of the pavilion was built with stone from Jade Mountain and soil from Yin-Ko Town. The audience is also invited to fly lanterns for good luck – a traditional island custom – and view its beautiful mountains and lakes at its pavilion. If 40 people make a ring on the platform, each of them will trigger a beam that will light the globe.

In this painting besides beautiful and various images lit by the LED and flying lanterns, Dr. Chen added the close-up depiction of the performance by an aboriginal troupe.
